The Minister of Health meets with the President of the Republic of Albania to discuss prospects for health cooperation between the two countries

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, met with President Bajram Begay, President of the Republic of Albania, to discuss ways to support and enhance bilateral cooperation in the health sector, in the presence of Sami Sheba, Ambassador of the Republic of Albania to Egypt.
Dr. Abdel Ghaffar welcomed the Albanian President, stressing the importance of exchanging expertise and successful experiences as a basic foundation for enhancing the quality of health services and achieving common health security, and he expressed Egypt’s aspiration to deepen cooperation. He pointed out the ministry’s keenness to expedite the completion of the procedures for signing the memorandum of understanding between the ministries of health in the two countries, in preparation for launching joint executive programs that benefit the two peoples and strengthen Egyptian-Albanian relations in the health field.

For his part, President Bajram Begay expressed his appreciation for the advanced Egyptian expertise in health care and medicine, stressing that cooperation with Egypt represents a strategic value for Albania thanks to its distinguished capabilities and modern health infrastructure.
He pointed to his country’s aspiration to build a sustainable health relationship based on partnership and exchange of experiences, especially in training programs and developing health insurance systems, praising the remarkable development achieved by Egypt in the health sector. Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry, explained that the meeting dealt with cooperation in combating communicable and non-communicable diseases, and benefiting from the Egyptian experience in implementing the comprehensive health insurance system, digital transformation of medical services, and training programs for Albanian medical staff, in addition to manufacturing vaccines and biological preparations and localizing pharmaceutical industries.
He added that the two sides stressed the importance of forming a joint working group to follow up Implementing agreements and activating cooperation programs in the fields of health emergencies, public health, primary care, and scientific research.
Abdul Ghaffar stressed that the meeting comes in implementation of the directives of the political leadership to support international health partnerships, which contributes to improving the quality of medical services and achieving sustainable development in Both countries.
