President of the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood attends a number of events in Alexandria Governorate

Dr. Sahar El-Sunbaty, President of the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood, witnessed a number of events in Alexandria Governorate, within the framework of the Council’s celebrations of childhood holidays, which included: a visit to Neil Al-Amal Hospital for pediatric surgeries and the gift of medical equipment to them in support of children’s health care, a visit to Caritas Egypt in Alexandria, honoring the young men and women in wheelchair basketball at the Al-Hassan Foundation, and inspecting the activities of the “Bokra Pina” child empowerment camp. In the Mustafa Al-Najjar School Complex, and participating in a celebration for children at the Amira Lutfi Public School in Bashaer Al-Khair, which included medical convoys to examine the children, in addition to various recreational and cultural activities.
During her visit to the Nail Al-Amal Hospital for Pediatric Surgeries, Dr. Sahar Al-Sunbati praised the level of medical services provided within the hospital, and the great efforts made by the medical and administrative teams in providing integrated health care for children. She was received by Dr. Muhammad Abdel Malak, Director General of the Hospital, and Dr. Karam Kurdi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, as the hospital includes about 45 specialized and rehabilitation clinics, in addition to 10 surgical specialties.
The children, ambassadors of the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood, also presented a number of in-kind gifts to sick children; To bring joy and happiness to their souls, while the Council presented a number of medical devices provided by the Council’s branch in Alexandria and the Rotary Club of Alexandria Marine.
The President of the Council praised the efforts provided by Caritas Egypt in Alexandria, especially the Center for Children at Risk affiliated with the Association’s Childhood Program, praising the qualitative activities carried out within it, and the models provided by Caritas A pioneering humanitarian in caring for children in difficult circumstances.
She also expressed her admiration for the creative workshops and lively musical choir she saw, which reflects the Foundation’s belief in children’s abilities and their right to equal opportunities for growth and self-expression. She was received by Hani Morris, Director of the Caritas Egypt Office, Dr. Yvonne Bakhit, Director of the Association’s Child Care and Protection Program, and Dr. Fayza Zayed, Undersecretary of the Social Solidarity Directorate. The events were attended by Dr. Karam Malak, a member of the Council’s Board of Directors, Dr. Omaima Al-Sheikh, General Supervisor of the Council’s branch in Alexandria, Dr. Hanaa Al-Sayed, Director of the Girls’ Health Program, Dr. Samir Aburia, Director of the Egyptian Child Empowerment Program “Bokra Pena,” Nasser Muslim, Advisor to the Girls Empowerment Initiative “Dawai,” Mona Mostafa, General Director of Documentation, and Secretary Al-Desouki, Director General of Student Activities at the Ministry of Education, Dr. Arabi Abu Zeid, Director of the Alexandria Directorate of Education, and a number of members of the Alexandria Rotary Club, along with a group of children who are the Council’s ambassadors in the governorate.
Dr. Al-Sunbati and her accompanying delegation also inspected the celebration that was organized in coordination between the Council’s branch in Alexandria and the West Alexandria Educational Administration, which was held at the Amira Lutfi Public Language School. “Bashaer Al-Khair” with the participation of about 3,000 boys and girls, and the activities included an interactive camp carried out as part of the activities of the National Initiative for the Empowerment of Girls “Dawai”, which aims to promote children’s rights, empower girls, and raise health awareness among young people.
Al-Sunbati indicated: The camp included the implementation of a set of awareness-raising and recreational activities aimed at raising children’s awareness of girls’ health issues, and promoting the values of cooperation, participation and respect for others.
Medical convoys were also organized in cooperation with the Directorate of Education, targeting medical examinations for 1,892 children from primary school students in the specializations of ophthalmology, teeth and hearing.
On the sidelines of the visit, the Al Hassan Foundation’s wheelchair basketball juniors, male and female, were honored, where Dr. Sahar Al-Sunbati and the accompanying delegation received medals and gifts in kind and souvenirs in appreciation of their efforts and talents. These young men and women, aged 6 years and above, are considered the first nucleus to establish a promising future for wheelchair basketball in Egypt.
The honoring was attended by Mai Zein El-Din, Executive Director of the El-Hassan Foundation, President of the Egyptian Wheelchair Basketball Federation, and Member of the Board of Directors of the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood, and Eng. Mamdouh Hosni, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sporting Club, Mr. Hamdy Allam, Deputy Executive Director of the Club, consulting engineer Sameh Hamido, Coordinator of the Governor’s Assistants for Rotary Egypt, and Dr. Lubna Zidan, former President of Rotary of Alexandria.
At the conclusion of her visit to Alexandria Governorate, Dr. Sahar El-Sunbaty witnessed the activities of the “Bokra Pena” Egyptian Child Empowerment Initiative, which It is being implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education and the European Union, praising the children’s participation and interaction within the camp, stressing that the initiative reflects the state’s keenness to reach every child and enhance his or her opportunities for empowerment, participation and protection.
Al-Sunbati confirmed: The initiative seeks to consolidate the rights of Egyptian children by providing safe spaces to express their opinions, develop their creative and leadership skills, and build their awareness of their rights and duties, in addition to raising family and community awareness of the importance of empowering children to become active partners in building the future of the nation.
