The Foreign Minister meets his Algerian counterpart to discuss bilateral relations

He met Dr. Badr Abdel Ati, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Affairs of Egyptians Abroad, today, Wednesday, November 5, 2025, Ahmed Attaf, Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, within the framework of his visit to Algeria to participate in the meeting of the tripartite mechanism for Libya’s neighboring countries.
Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Minister Abdel Ati stressed at the beginning of the meeting the depth and strength of the historical and fraternal relations that bring together Egypt and Algeria, stressing the importance of Good preparation for the ninth session of the Egyptian-Algerian Joint Higher Committee scheduled to be held in Cairo this month, as an opportunity to enhance cooperation in priority sectors, especially in the economic, trade and investment fields.
Minister Abdel-Ati also expressed Egypt’s aspiration to enhance development cooperation and exchange experiences with Algeria, expressing the readiness of Egyptian companies to contribute to development and infrastructure projects in Algeria in light of their competence and experience in implementing projects.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman added that Minister Abdel Ati touched on regional developments, most notably the Palestinian issue, reviewing the results of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit and the historic agreement that resulted from it to stop the war in the Gaza Strip, stressing the necessity of consolidating the agreement and ensuring the entry of humanitarian and relief aid into the Strip in preparation for reconstruction, noting the ongoing preparations for holding the International Conference for Reconstruction, Early Recovery and Development in Gaza this November in Cairo, in coordination with partners. Regional and international levels.
Minister Abdel-Aty also stressed the importance of continuing coordination between Egypt and Algeria regarding the situation in Libya and supporting the Libyan political path, stressing Egypt’s keenness to maintain the regularity of holding meetings of the tripartite mechanism for Libya’s neighboring countries as a main framework for consultation on ways to support the unity and stability of the Libyan state.
Minister Abdel-Aty concluded the meeting by emphasizing Egypt’s keenness to continue consultation and coordination with Algeria at the regional levels. Internationally, and to support the efforts of the two countries in strengthening joint Arab and African action to achieve security, stability and development for the peoples of the region.
