The final qualifiers for the Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Holy Quran Competition begin on November 8

DUBAI, 6th November, 2018 (WAM) – The Dubai International Holy Quran Award, affiliated with the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai, is preparing to launch the final qualifiers for the “Sheikha Hind Bint Maktoum Holy Quran Competition” this November, with the participation of 112 male and female contestants in various branches of memorization, amid a Qur’anic atmosphere in which competition is renewed on the paths of recitation and mastery.

The male category qualifiers will be held during the period from November 8 to 12, with 56 contestants distributed over the days as follows: 11 contestants on November 8, 12 contestants on November 9, and 11 contestants on each of November 10, 11, and 12, while the female category qualifiers will start during the period from November 15 to 19, with a similar number of 56 contestants distributed over the days according to the schedule approved by the jury.

Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Acting Director of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award, confirmed that the launch of the final qualifiers represents an essential stage in the stages of the competition, which has established, since its inception, a solid approach to serving the Book of God and motivating members of society to memorize it and master its recitation.

Al Mansouri said, “This tournament reflects the great interest our wise leadership gives to Quranic talents and strengthens Dubai’s position as a leading destination in hosting local and international Quranic events. The department was keen to create an ideal environment for participants and arbitration committees to ensure justice, equal opportunities, and transparency of results.”

Al Mansouri pointed out that the great demand for participation reflects the consolidation of religious and educational values ​​in Emirati society, stressing that the award continues to fulfill its mission of nurturing memorizers of the Book of God and refining their abilities in a way that contributes to preparing a conscious generation that adheres to the lofty Qur’anic values.

The Department invited the public to follow the final qualifying activities, which will be held in the award’s main judging hall and will be broadcast live on the Department’s YouTube channel, in support of the participants’ memorization of the Holy Qur’an and to encourage their journey in memorizing the Holy Qur’an.
