Assistant Foreign Minister: The citizen concerned about the video of the Grand Mosque in Mecca indicates that the incident should be contained amicably

Ambassador Haddad Al-Gohary, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Consular Affairs and Egyptians Abroad, stated that the Ministry, and in light of what was recently circulated on social media sites of a video clip containing an incident inside the Holy Mosque of Mecca between an Egyptian citizen and a Saudi police official, it has assigned both the General Consulate of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Jeddah and the Egyptian Embassy in Riyadh to quickly communicate with the competent authorities in the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to find out the true circumstances of the incident and follow up on it. The Assistant Foreign Minister explained – in a statement to the Middle East News Agency on Thursday – that immediate communication was made with the Egyptian citizen, as the Egyptian citizen indicated that the incident was contained amicably, stressing the appreciation and respect he felt on the part of the Saudi authorities and people, which reflects the spirit of brotherhood and mutual appreciation between the two brotherly peoples.
The Assistant Foreign Minister indicated that the Egyptian citizen expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for The speed of movement and communication with him, and its full readiness to provide any necessary consular assistance, within the framework of the ministry’s constant care for the people of the country abroad.
