After the Royal Peace, His Highness the Emir of the Riyadh Region delivered a speech on this occasion, in which he said: "Under the generous patronage of my Lord, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God protect him – and on behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister – may God protect him – I announced the official opening of the sixth edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games. On this occasion, His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Sports, President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, President of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation, said: "The generous royal sponsorship of this tournament represents a generous extension of the important status that sport enjoys among the wise leadership – may God protect it – and its keenness to present an ideal version of this Islamic demonstration, with more than 57 Islamic countries meeting with their athletes in the heart of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, and a tangible embodiment of the great interest that His Highness the Crown Prince – may God protect him – attaches to sports and athletes from various countries of the Islamic world."

He also appreciated His Highness the Emir of the Riyadh Region for honoring the opening ceremony and announcing the launch of the session, wishing all the best and success to all participants in this session, which enhances the value of Islamic brotherhood and solidarity.

A sporting event in the organization

After that, the Assistant Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Ambassador Tariq Ali Bakhit, delivered a speech on this occasion, in which he expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its support and efforts in promoting joint Islamic action, under the wise leadership of Khadem. The Two Holy Mosques, and His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect them.

Ambassador Bakhit stressed that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation attaches great importance to the Islamic Solidarity Games, as it is the largest sporting event in the organization’s system, which embodies the values of Islamic solidarity and brotherhood.

The opening ceremony witnessed artistic and cultural performances that reflect common Islamic values and highlight the Kingdom’s ancient civilizational and cultural heritage. In addition to a review of the participating delegations, marking the start of the sports competitions that will continue until the twenty-first of this November.
