High-speed train launch "Velaro" …Learn about speed and stopping stations

The TransMEA exhibition, in its sixth session, will witness the first display of the Velaro model express electric train, among the trains scheduled to operate in the express train network currently being implemented to connect more than 80 cities in the Republic. This is the third train after receiving two trains of the regional version.
The train was manufactured in Germany through the German company Siemens, as part of 41 Velaro express trains with a design speed of 250 km/hour and an operational speed. 230 km/h, 94 Desiro regional trains with a design speed of 200 km/h, and an operational speed of 160 km/h, and 41 Vectron electric tractors with an operating speed of 120 km/h.
The capacity of the high-speed train received by the Egyptian Ministry of Transport is 479 passengers, divided between two classes, economy class and business class, and the train speed reaches 250 km/h, as it is manufactured. With special specifications that suit the Egyptian climate, the air conditioning capacity was also increased, and the train was painted in a way that suits the weather in Egypt, and the train is monitored by cameras.
The train provides degrees of luxury, and serves all categories of the public, including people of determination and the elderly. The seats have also been numbered in Braille to help blind people recognize the seat number. The train has chairs suitable for families with movable tables, and toilets equipped for people of determination. It includes tables for changing children’s clothes.
Spaces have been allocated for wheelchairs inside the train, as well as luggage storage areas, and all internal train doors operate automatically. The train includes screens displaying trip data in the business class cars, and each chair also includes electrical outlets, phone charging places, reading lamps, tables built into the backs of the chairs, a clothes rack and a coat holder in each seat, and a phone holder.

This train is scheduled to run on the first line of the high-speed electric train, and the first line is known as the “Green Line.” (Ain Sokhna – New Alamein – Marsa Matrouh), with a length of 675 kilometers, and includes 22 stations, including 10 stations for the high-speed train and 12 regional stations, and they are (Ain Sokhna – Administrative Capital – Mohamed Naguib – Cairo – South Giza – “Ayat Branch – Fayoum Beni Suef” – October Gardens – 6th of October – Sphinx – Sadat – Wadi El-Natroun – El-Nubaria – Alexandria – Borg El-Arab – Amreya – El-Hammam – El-Alamein – Sidi Abdel-Rahman – El-Dabaa – Swan Lake – Ras El-Hikma – Almaza Bay – Matrouh). – Minya – Assiut – Sohag – Qena – Luxor – Edfu – Aswan Airport – Toshka – Abu Simbel, and 26 stations for regional trains: (Al-Ayat – Al-Fashn – Al-Adwa – Bani Mazar – Samalut – Abu Qurqas – Malwa – Al-Qusiya) – منفلوط – أبوتيج – الغنايم – طهطا – جهينة – ابيدوس – فرشوط – نجع حمادى – دشنا- قوص -ارمنت-اسنا – السباعية – كلابشة – دراو – أسوان الجديدة -ميدكوم) ويلتقى هذا الخط فى محطة حدائق أكتوبر بالخط الأول وفى محطة قنا By the third line.
The second line of the high-speed train network passes parallel to the route of the Western Desert Road passing through the governorates of Upper Egypt. The number of express electric trains on this line is scheduled to reach 20 trains, regional electric trains 48 trains, and 20 tractors for transporting goods to ensure achieving the greatest financial return that covers operating and maintenance expenses later. The goal of diversifying mobile units (express and regional) is to provide a means Civilized transportation that suits all income levels, while providing distinguished service.
