ABU DHABI, 11TH November, 2017 (WAM) – The Federal National Council is participating in the nineteenth regular meeting of Their Excellencies and Excellencies the Heads of the Shura, Representatives, National and Nation Councils in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and the twenty-second meeting of the Parliamentary Coordination and Foreign Relations Committee in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, which are hosted by the House of Representatives in the sisterly Kingdom of Bahrain on November 13 in the capital, Manama.
The Council delegation participating in the two meetings is headed by His Excellency Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council, while the delegation includes His Excellency Mona Khalifa Hammad, Chair of the Council Group in the regular meeting of the heads of the Gulf legislative councils, Aisha Khamis Al Dhanhani, Vice President of the Group, Saeed Rashid Al Abdi, Dr. Adnan Hamad Al Hammadi, Sheikha Saeed Al Kaabi, Dr. Maryam Obaid Al Badawi, members of the Council, and Dr. Omar Abdul Rahman Al Nuaimi, The Secretary-General, Afra Rashid Al-Basti, Assistant Secretary-General for Parliamentary Communications, and Tariq Ahmed Al-Marzouqi, Assistant Secretary-General for Council Presidency Affairs.
Their Excellencies the heads of the Shura, Representatives, National and Nation Councils of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries will hold their nineteenth regular meeting, chaired by His Excellency Ahmed bin Salman Al Muslim, Speaker of the Bahraini House of Representatives, on November 13, 2025, during which the report of the presidency of His Excellency Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council, of the eighteenth regular meeting of the heads of the Gulf legislative councils will be presented, which includes the recommendations of the symposium “The Legislative Role of the Gulf Legislative Councils in the Governance of Intelligence.” Artificial Reality, Challenges and Future Prospects,” which was hosted by the Council in Abu Dhabi on October 7, in addition to the activity of the European-Gulf Parliamentary Committee, activating cooperation between the Gulf legislative councils and the European Parliament, implementing the strategy of increasing the momentum of Gulf parliamentary cooperation, and enhancing cooperation with the parliaments of Latin American and Caribbean countries.
