United Nations: Our role is advisory and supportive of the Election Commission in Iraq

The Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Claudio Cordone, confirmed today, Tuesday, that the role of the United Nations is advisory and supportive of the Electoral Commission.
Cordone said, during his visit to one of the polling stations – according to what was reported by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) – that “the aim of the visit is to emphasize the importance of the role played by the United Nations in supporting and ensuring that the electoral process runs smoothly and fairly in accordance with the laws and instructions.” window.”
