المملكة: Endowments: spending exceeding 1.5 billion riyals and 50 initiatives to serve the pilgrims

As part of its participation in Hajj and Umrah Conference and Exhibition, confirmed General Authority of Endowments that its efforts to serve Guests of the Mercifulis proceeding at a rapid pace, within an integrated system of partnerships and development initiatives.
The Authority’s Deputy Governor for the Banking Sector and Development Programs, Abdul Rahman Al-Aqeel, revealed that the Authority has spent more than 1.5 billion riyals on development programs and initiatives directed to serving pilgrims and Umrah pilgrims, through more than 50 specific initiatives that were implemented in partnership with a large number of governmental, charitable and development agencies.
Diverse fields
Al-Aqeel said that the Hajj Conference and Exhibition represents an important platform to introduce the efforts of entities working in serving the guests of God, stressing that the General Authority for Endowments has contributed in various fields including health, education and public services, which has been reflected positively in improving the experience of pilgrims and Umrah pilgrims and raising the quality of services provided to them.
He pointed out that the Authority works through a participatory approach with its partners in the public and charitable sectors, as four major agreements were signed during the recent period. Its value exceeded half a billion riyals, including an agreement with the Nusk Foundation and the Princess Seetah bint Abdulaziz Foundation worth 300 million riyals, another with the Social Development Bank to provide housing for the most needy groups, and an agreement with the Al Rajhi Foundation to develop a number of development initiatives directed to the guests of God.
A joint portfolio
Al-Aqeel explained that these agreements represent part of a joint portfolio that aims to enhance integration between entities and unify efforts to serve Hajj and Umrah pilgrims in Multiple fields, including irrigation, health, educational, and social services, noting that the map of endowment banks today has become clear and directed more towards the Two Holy Mosques, the holy sites, and timings, reflecting the diversity of banks and the multiplicity of areas of endowment spending.
He stressed that the Authority is currently working on developing new models to identify and direct development needs according to specific priorities, which contributes to enhancing the endowment’s impact and sustainability, and directing endowments towards opportunities with a developmental impact. Regarding the authority’s participation in the conference, Al-Aqeel explained that the pavilion of the General Authority for Endowments provided a distinguished experience for visitors, which included a comprehensive presentation of the endowment’s journey since its establishment during the era of the founding King Abdulaziz – may God have mercy on him – until this prosperous era, pointing out that the pavilion combined historical, technical and developmental content, by displaying modern systems and legislation, digital transformation platforms, and a platform "Endowment”, in addition to displaying the historical endowment holdings.
He also pointed out that the pavilion received a wide response from visitors who expressed their admiration for the experiences on offer, especially the experience "“Darb Zubaida,” which shed light on one of the impressive historical models in serving pilgrims, stressing that the statistics and indicators presented about the number of beneficiaries, the volume of spending, and the types of digital services provided reflect the significant impact of the endowments in community development and serving the guests of God.
