The Minister of Electricity discusses with the Ambassador of Uzbekistan opportunities for cooperation in renewable energy

Dr. Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, discussed with Mansur Bek Kylychev, Ambassador of the State of Uzbekistan to Egypt, ways to support and enhance cooperation and investment in various fields of electricity, especially new and renewable energy projects, the localization of the manufacture of necessary equipment, the investment opportunities available in this field, and support for the private sector to establish clean energy projects.
The Ministry of Electricity stated, in a statement, today, Wednesday, that the Minister stressed the importance of the relations that bring together Egypt and Uzbekistan in many fields, and their keenness to develop cooperation paths in the field of electricity and new and renewable energy, in light of the investment opportunities and projects offered by the National Energy Strategy and the plan of the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy to localize their industries.
The meeting discussed various aspects of cooperation within the framework of the sector’s work strategy, the program to diversify energy sources and expand renewable energy projects, and the energy strategy to maximize the use of natural resources, especially new and renewable energy sources, and the establishment of solar and renewable energy stations. Wind.
Esmat said that the electric energy sector receives the attention and support of the government as it is the basic pillar of development in various fields, and that Egypt enjoys great wealth in its natural resources, which mainly include wind and solar energy. He explained that the state has taken all measures to create the investment climate, attract investments, encourage and support the private sector to pioneer this field, and cooperate with international financing bodies to implement projects in renewable energy, so that Egypt becomes one of the most attractive countries for investment in the fields of clean energy.
