Youssef Badawi: Proud that Egypt is organizing the World Karate Championship

Youssef Badawi, a player in the Egyptian national karate team, expressed his great happiness over Egypt’s organization of the World Karate Championship – Cairo 2025, which returns to the land of Kenya after an absence of 37 years, stressing that this global event reflects international confidence in Egypt’s organizational and human capabilities.

 

Badawi said: “I am very proud that the World Championship will be held in Egypt after these long years, as hosting this global event is an affirmation of Egypt’s status and leadership in organizing major tournaments.”

He added The star of the national team: “We promise the fans that we will do everything in our power to deliver a distinguished performance and achieve the largest number of medals, and we hope to see the fans in the stands to support and encourage us, because their presence gives us a strong motivation to achieve achievement.”

The Egyptian karate team is participating in the tournament with 12 male and female players representing the elite champions of the game, and they are: Aya Hisham Ahmed “Kata Individual” and Reem Ahmed Ramzy “under 50 kg” – Ahlam Hamdi Ibrahim “under 55 kg”,   Norseen Muhammad Kamal “under 61 kg”, Hadir Ahmed Abdel Moneim “under 68 kg” – Menna Shaaban Ibrahim “over 68 kg”, Karim Walid Ghaly “Kata Verdi” – Ziad Al-Gharib Rabie “Under 60 Kg” , Ali Muhammad Muhammad Al-Sawy “under 67 kg”, Abdullah Mamdouh Hanafi “under 75 kg” – Youssef Emad Mahmoud “under 84 kg” , Taha Tarek Mahmoud, “over 84 kg.”

The Egyptian National Team for People of Determination is also participating in the tournament, in a humanitarian message that reflects the state’s full support for diversity and inclusion, and the affirmation that sport is a right for everyone.

For his part, Captain Mohamed El-Dahrawy, President of the Egyptian Karate Federation, confirmed that the tournament will be a shining mark in the history of the game, saying: “We are working around the clock to present an organization worthy of Egypt’s name and its sporting history.”
