Iraq wasted victory over “Al-Abyad”

The Iraqi national team player, Amir Al-Ammari, said that his country missed a victory that was within reach at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium, stressing that his team had three scoring opportunities that were not exploited in the desired manner.

He added after the match, which was held yesterday, and ended in a draw (1-1): “We continued the attack in the second half, but we clashed with the level of goalkeeper Khaled Issa, who was undoubtedly one of the stars of the match.”

Al-Ammari added: “It is normal for the Emirati team to put pressure at the end of the match, but our defense was at its best, and we maintained the draw, which gave us an advantage before the return match. We promise our fans that we will achieve victory at our stadium in Basra.”
