53 pioneering social initiatives to support the most needy groups

The vision of the Emirate of Dubai for charitable and humanitarian work is characterized by a unique model that focuses on giving opportunities that support the achievement of comprehensive and sustainable human development goals, not only extending a helping hand to those in need of assistance, but also following a development approach that ensures the sustainability of the benefit to the communities benefiting from the aid. Therefore, the Joud platform for community contributions constitutes a reliable reference point for those wishing to contribute to humanitarian, charitable and development work in Dubai, as it oversees 53 community initiatives to care for the most needy groups in society, distributed among 33 care initiatives, nine education initiatives, nine health initiatives, in addition to two housing initiatives.

Educational donation initiatives include Aid Our Students, Alif Baa, Zad Rashid Initiative, cognitive therapy equipment, electronic devices for people of determination, scholarships in the field of health care, payment of tuition fees, and support for students from low-income families, in addition to an education endowment. The initiatives provide opportunities to cover the expenses of low-income students, support university students, and promote rehabilitation treatment for students of determination, in addition to encouraging and caring for outstanding students to begin their educational journey in the world of medicine and health care.

In addition to the initiatives to support dialysis patients, the health endowment, the “Your Donation Life” campaign, treatment of chronic medical conditions, Awn and the Hope Council, and mobile clinics, in addition to the Mohammed bin Rashid Center for Medical Research initiative and support for external research. The health initiatives aim to provide medical and therapeutic services to citizen patients by providing medical devices, therapeutic services and supporting surgical operations, providing health care services outside the walls of medical facilities, covering the expenses of low-income health cases, providing financial support to needy patients residing in Dubai, and maintaining the health of female patients. Cancer and their well-being, in addition to uniting the efforts of the most important scientists in order to discover solutions to confront the greatest health challenges in the region.

While the most prominent initiatives to care for the most needy groups in society include the initiative to care for orphans and minors, empowering cases, strengthening family ties, supporting, rehabilitating and integrating children of determination, providing financial and in-kind support, monthly sponsorship and emergency aid to help and make orphans within their families happy, as the initiatives provide early intervention services for people of determination that help them develop their abilities, and provide permanent shelter for orphans and people of unknown parentage by embracing them in a family atmosphere that compensates. To address their loss, support the social needs of orphans, widows, senior citizens, people of determination, and low-income people, establish a commercial center and endowment shops, provide water coolers in workers’ housing, and empower those involved in rehabilitating victims of violence, women and children, so that they can gain strength and skills in dealing.

The care initiatives include supporting Emirati productive families, feeding food, caring for the families of prisoners, the Aounak Center to help those recovering from addiction and their families integrate positively into society, and Sanad to facilitate the communication process for people of determination with hearing disabilities or speech difficulties with others and integrating them into society, in addition to caring for senior citizens by providing them with material and moral support.

As for the two housing initiatives, they are (Home Maintenance) and (My Home) Initiative. The first aims to help low-income Emirati families who suffer from a defect in their housing, while the second works to achieve stability for low-income families who have received a housing grant.
