“Jarnin 99” shines with the “Namos” of the Dubai Sailing Ship Race, 60 feet

The boat “Jarnin 99”, owned by Ali Abdullah Al Marzouqi and captained by Nokhatha Issa Sultan Al Marzouqi, won “Namoos” in the second round of the Dubai Local Sailing Ship Race, 60-foot class, which was held by the Dubai International Marine Sports Club today, Saturday, with great success and wide participation from 64 sailing boats, all of whom succeeded in completing the race competitions from the starting line all the way to the finish line.

The competition was intense throughout the course of the race, with very close differences between the participating boats. In second place came the boat “Al-Taf 9”, owned by Mohammed Rashid Al-Rumaithi, and captained by Nokhadha Yousef Ahmed Al Hammadi, while third place was achieved by the boat “Al Dhafra 125” owned by Mohammed Abdullah Al Marzouqi.

Khalid bin Dasmal, a member of the Board of Directors of the Dubai International Marine Sports Club, and Mohammed Al Marri, Director of the Sports Affairs Department at the Dubai International Marine Sports Club, attended the coronation ceremony and participated in crowning the winners, by crowning the first place winners in the race.

Khaled Bin Dasmal congratulated those who won the first places, and thanked all the participants in the race and the entities supporting the sporting events of the Dubai International Marine Sports Club, and said: “Holding the second round of the 60-foot sailing ship race comes within a comprehensive calendar of events for various categories and marine races, through which we are keen to translate the directives of our wise leadership to support the people of society, and provide them with the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of this type of sailing ships, and highlight their abilities and creativity. And this is what they followed during the course of this race in particular, which was distinguished at all technical and competitive levels.”

For his part, Mohammed Al Marri praised the efforts and levels presented by all the participants in this race, which proceeded quickly and with a performance that reflects the craftsmanship and skill of the participants, with their keenness to adhere to safety and security instructions. He said: “The 60-foot sailing ship race presented, for the second time, one of the most wonderful competitive atmospheres in the Dubai Sea, after the success of the first round that was held two weeks ago, as the participants were keen to improve their digital times and benefit from the experience of the track in the last round, which was reflected in the high pace of this race. The race as well, and the great closeness between the bearings until reaching the finish line.”
