Egyptian Ambassador to Athens: Developing the consular work system allowed communication with the community and shortened the time to complete transactions

Ambassador Omar Amer, the Egyptian ambassador to Greece, confirmed that the development of the consular work system at the embassy allowed effective communication with members of the Egyptian community and reduced a lot of time to complete their transactions.
Ambassador Omar Amer, in a statement today, Sunday, after meeting with a number of Egyptian youth residing in Greece, called on members of the community to benefit from the electronic system. The developer, which allows communication around the clock, to respond to inquiries and facilitate the completion of consular transactions as quickly as possible.
He pointed out that new communication lines have been provided that operate throughout the day, in addition to the imminent launch of consular missions in a number of Greek cities with an Egyptian population to complete transactions in the places where citizens are located, without the need to go to the consulate headquarters, noting that the process of developing the consular work system is continuing to ensure permanent communication with all members of the community.
The ambassador stressed Omar Amer, said that following up on the conditions of the Egyptian community in Greece represents one of the most important priorities of the embassy’s work, within the framework of the state’s policy that pays great attention to citizens abroad, and providing support and assistance to them.
He added that the embassy is working to provide the best consular services to ensure the facilitation of completing transactions, noting that he met with the Greek Minister of Immigration and Asylum, to discuss ways to settle the legal status of a number of members of the community in accordance with the laws regulating work in Greece, in addition to discussing benefiting from the job opportunities available within the framework of the seasonal workers agreement. Signed between the two countries.
He stressed that bringing in Egyptian workers through the agreement provides safe opportunities for young people to work legally and sustainably, and contributes to reducing illegal immigration and its serious risks that threaten the lives of citizens, pointing out that many European countries are imposing severe penalties on violators of immigration laws.
