Expo Sharjah and the Syrian Exhibition Foundation discuss enhancing joint cooperation

Sharjah, 16 November / WAM / The Expo Center Sharjah discussed with the Syrian Foundation for International Exhibitions and Markets ways to enhance the prospects for cooperation in the fields of organizing and hosting exhibitions and economic events, in addition to working to exchange experiences and develop partnerships that contribute to supporting the exhibition sector and enhancing its role as an effective platform for supporting economic development and expanding areas of commercial cooperation between businessmen and investors.

This came during a meeting with His Excellency Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Center Sharjah, with His Excellency Mohammed Hamza, Director General of the Syrian Foundation for International Exhibitions and Markets.

The two sides discussed mechanisms to enhance joint work to improve the performance of the exhibition and conference industry and benefit from the great capabilities of Expo Sharjah in the field of organizing and hosting major events, in addition to exploring opportunities to attract Syrian companies and investors to participate in the activities witnessed by the center.

The two sides exchanged the annual agenda of exhibitions and events to be organized in the two countries, which will contribute to coordinating participation, enhancing opportunities for cooperation between companies and institutions from both sides, and exploring new areas of partnership in future economic and commercial activities.

His Excellency Saif Mohammed Al Midfa stressed that Expo Center Sharjah is keen to diversify its strategic partnerships with all exhibition centers in the world, especially Arab ones, with the aim of strengthening the exhibition and conference industry, improving its performance and sustainable growth, and enabling it to continue playing its essential role in promoting economic recovery, especially since this vital sector is considered a major contributor to the economic growth of countries. He pointed out that there are broad prospects for cooperation between Expo Sharjah and the Syrian Foundation for International Exhibitions and Markets, whether in organizing joint events or in providing services and benefits to investors and visitors to exhibitions from both sides.

He noted that this meeting constituted an important platform for setting work plans, anticipating future opportunities, coordinating between the two sides in the exhibitions and conferences sector, and unifying joint work to enhance its contribution to supporting the various economic sectors of the two countries, stressing the readiness of Expo Center Sharjah to provide all forms of support and facilities to Syrian companies wishing to participate in the various activities witnessed by Expo Sharjah, which will help them enhance their presence and spread in the markets of the region.

For his part, His Excellency Mohammed Hamza praised the pioneering experience achieved by the UAE in developing the exhibition industry, pointing out that the Emirate of Sharjah is an inspiring model in managing and organizing exhibitions due to its advanced infrastructure and great expertise in this field.

He stressed the Foundation’s keenness to build a long-term partnership with the Sharjah Expo Center to benefit from its successful experiences and develop bilateral cooperation in a way that serves the interests of the economic sector in the two brotherly countries, especially since the Sharjah Expo is an integrated platform that annually hosts more than 80 specialized events and exhibitions in various economic, commercial and cultural sectors, which opens the way for Syrian companies to expand their participation and communicate with new partners from various regional and global markets.
