We are not satisfied with Sharjah’s decline…and we must correct the course

Sharjah player, Brazilian Igor Cornado, confirmed that the team is not satisfied with the current level, stressing that the “King” needs to correct the course after the defeat against Al Ain in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the League of Professionals (Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cup), which is the team’s eighth loss this season.
Cornado told Emirates Today: “The team, since the beginning of the season, has not performed at the required level, and this requires all players to work hard to improve performance and return the team to its normal level.”
He added: “The matter is not limited to the Al Ain match only, but extends throughout the season, and we must give our best in every match.”
Cornado scored Sharjah’s only goal in the match in the 88th minute, stressing the importance of the role of experienced players in leading the team towards improving overall performance.
Cornado touched on the return match against Al Ain, and said: “The loss (1-3) in our stadium makes the return match difficult, and we must focus to provide the best performance.”
Cornado described the team’s performance against Al Ain as a mixture of good and bad, with periods in which Sharjah excelled and others in which the competitor excelled, stressing “the necessity of carefully assessing the situation and working to correct it quickly.”
Sharjah is going through a difficult stage in the current season, under the leadership of Serbian coach Milos Milojevic, as it was eliminated from the President’s Cup competition by the first division team United on penalties, and is ranked 11th on the ADNOC Professional League standings with only seven points, 12 points behind Al Ain (the leaders) with seven rounds, and finally the loss to Al Ain in the Professional League Cup and the possibility of being eliminated from the competition for the competition title, which gives an indication that the team is on its way to exit the season without any championship, although Although it has distinguished players, foreigners and international citizens.
