An awareness seminar at Al-Azhar Conference Center on the dangers of addiction and ways to prevent it

Cairo Governorate, in cooperation with the Islamic Research Academy, will organize, tomorrow, Thursday, at Al-Azhar Conference Center, an awareness symposium, under the title: (The dangers of addiction and ways of prevention… a comprehensive legal and health reading).

This is within the framework of activating the national plan to combat drugs under the auspices of the President of the Republic, as it is one of the most dangerous issues affecting the safety of the individual and society, under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Al-Duwaini, Undersecretary of Al-Azhar. Al-Sherif, Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, Dr. Mohamed El-Gendy, Secretary-General of the Academy, and the follow-up of Dr. Hossam Shalabi, Head of the Central Administration for Councils, Conferences and Communications in the Governorate.

Participating in the symposium are: Dr. Mohamed Mostafa, toxicology and narcotics expert in the Forensic Medicine Department of the Ministry of Justice and supervisor of analysis committees, and Hana Abdel Razek, Head of the Technical Secretariat of the Executive Committee. of the Addiction Control and Treatment Fund in Cairo Governorate, and Amira Ragab, preventive supervisor at the Addiction Control and Treatment Fund.

The symposium addresses a number of important topics; The most prominent of which are: the legal dimensions of addiction prevention, the health and social effects of narcotic substance abuse, mechanisms for enhancing community awareness, and the role of religious and educational institutions in reducing this matter, with a focus on raising employees’ awareness of the types of analgesic medications that may show positive results in drug tests, without this meaning the use of narcotic substances, and how to deal with them. With it in a proper manner.

Dr. Muhammad al-Jundi, Secretary-General of the Islamic Research Academy, stated that organizing this symposium comes as a continuation of the Academy’s efforts to support pressing societal issues and consolidate sound awareness among various segments of society, stressing the importance of integrating roles between national institutions to protect young people from the dangers of addiction, and promoting the culture of prevention as the first line of defense.
