Etihad Airways and Vietnam Airlines launch their codeshare partnership

Abu Dhabi, November 20 / WAM / Etihad Airways and Vietnam Airlines have strengthened travel relations between the UAE and Vietnam by launching a codeshare agreement that supports the new service recently launched by Etihad between Abu Dhabi and Hanoi.

According to a press release issued today, under the agreement, guests traveling on Etihad Airways can travel to Vietnamese destinations and other popular destinations across Asia, by booking one ticket for the entire trip, and clearing travel transactions once, without the need to transport luggage, thus making Abu Dhabi the easy bridge linking Vietnam to the Middle East, Europe and Africa.

Eric Dee, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer at Etihad Airways, said: “This partnership provides great value to our guests by opening the door to travel to the most vibrant and sought-after Asian destinations. Combined with our partnership with the loyalty program, which allows members of both companies to earn and redeem miles across our shared global networks, this cooperation confirms our commitment to providing our guests with more flexibility and a broader range of travel and distinguished experiences.”

For his part, Nguyen Quang Trung, Director of Corporate Planning and Development at Vietnam Airlines, said that this cooperation provides seamless access to the Etihad Airways network throughout the Middle East, Europe and Africa.

The codeshare agreement will be implemented gradually, and Vietnam Airlines passengers will be able to reach six destinations beyond Abu Dhabi: Athens, Addis Ababa, Bahrain, Muscat, Cairo and Istanbul, significantly expanding the network’s reach in the Middle East, Europe and Africa through Etihad’s global network.
