A young Uruguayan goalkeeper signs a professional contract with Al Ain until 2030

Al Ain Football Club Company announced the signing of a new professional contract with the young Uruguayan goalkeeper, Axel Amaral, extending until 2030, just six months after his contribution to the U-18 team being crowned with the league title.

Al-Zaeem’s scouts had spotted the goalkeeper with remarkable physical abilities years ago, before he officially joined the club’s ranks in 2024, as he stands 191 centimeters tall and weighs 79 kilograms.

The club published, through its account designated for senior levels, photos of the signing of the contract, which took place in the presence of Brazilian sporting director Rodrigo Mendes, in a step that reflects the club’s confidence in the future of the goalkeeper, born on November 15, 2007, and who has continued his rapid rise since his arrival in the Emirates.

The career of young Uruguayan goalkeeper Axel Amaral has been remarkable since its beginning, as in 2021 he was crowned champion of the interior regions with the Cerro Largo U-14 team, before moving to the youth teams in Nacional (second division) in 2022, where he continued his development to win the Uruguayan title with the U-16 category in 2023.

His move to Al Ain in 2024 was an additional turning point, as he succeeded last May in contributing to the U-18 team winning the league title, before receiving a call-up last June from the Uruguayan U-18 team to participate in the new edition of the Cotif Championship.

Amaral had spoken in previous statements to the “espndeportes” website, in its Uruguayan version, about his experience outside his country, saying that the beginning was difficult due to the distance from his family, but he is constantly working to adapt, noting the presence of players of different nationalities with whom he communicates in English, as well as the availability of a limited number of stores that sell yerba mate and products coming from Argentina and Uruguay, which helps him feel close to his original environment.
