The Ministry of Culture opens an exhibition "Creative expressions"

ABU DHABI, 21st November / WAM / The Ministry of Culture opened the “Creative Expressions” exhibition at the National Theater and Abu Dhabi Cultural Center, which will continue until January 9, 2026, in cooperation with “Abu Dhabi Art” in its seventeenth session.

The exhibition brings together under one roof the works of creative people who benefit from the National Grants for Culture and Creativity Program and the Creative Market Programme, along with participants in the Artistic Residency Programme, to celebrate creativity in all its forms across the fields of books and literature, cultural heritage, cinema and television, performing arts and theatre, plastic arts and design, video games, and music.

The exhibition also provides a clear presentation of the participants’ creative work paths, highlighting the basic stations in their artistic experience. The exhibition provides opportunities to interact with artists and learn about their work methodologies, highlighting the role of the Ministry of Culture in supporting and developing their creative production.

His Excellency Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Culture, said: “The Creative Expressions Exhibition represents a living translation of the Ministry of Culture’s vision of nurturing and empowering national talents, and it is an embodiment of the fruits of the sustainable support programs launched by the Ministry. The role of these programs is not only limited to supporting creative production, but extends to building the capabilities of creative people and enhancing their local and global presence, which contributes to enriching the national identity and driving the creative economy in the country.”

His Excellency added, “We are proud of the achievements of our creators, and through this exhibition we seek to shed light on their creative journey and the pivotal moments that shaped their journey, providing the public with inspiring experiences about the impact of investing in people and creativity.”

The exhibition includes a diverse list of Emirati and resident artists participating in the Ministry’s programmes, most notably: Azza Al Qubaisi, Ahmed Emad, Hessa Al Zaabi, Asim Mohammed, Shamma Al Hamed, Tala Hamoud Atrouni, Shamma Al Marzouqi, Sarah Al Zaabi, Sarah Al Rumaithi, Samia Saleh, Munther Al Safi, Muhammad Dardiri, Karen Roche, Fatima Al Marar, Diaa Allam, Youssef Al Badi, and other artists representing a spectrum. A wide range of creative trends and artistic visions.

The exhibition provides visitors with a narrative experience that tells the story of the development of the Ministry of Culture’s programs in supporting creative people, by highlighting the direct relationship between production, capacity building, promotion, and research programs, and the resulting completed artistic works that reflect national identity.

It is worth noting that the National Program for Granting Culture and Creativity is one of the most prominent major initiatives of the Ministry of Culture. It aims to support Emirati talent and empower creative people, and covers a wide range of sectors including: literature, visual arts, theater and performing arts, music, films, design, and video games, in addition to cultural heritage.
