Gargash: The tragic civil war in Sudan must stop immediately
Abu Dhabi, 22nd November / WAM / His Excellency Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Diplomatic Advisor to His Highness the President of the State, confirmed that the tragic civil war in Sudan must stop immediately.
His Excellency said in his account on the “x” website that the country slid to the brink of abyss when both sides of the conflict undermined the legitimate civilian government, which led to the exacerbation of the crisis and deepened the suffering of the Sudanese people.
He stressed that preserving the unity of Sudan and preventing the return of any extremist movements, including groups linked to the Muslim Brotherhood, constitutes a fundamental priority for regional security and Arab stability.
He noted that the path is clear for the international community and the Sudanese parties alike, which is an immediate ceasefire and comprehensive accountability for the violations committed by both parties.
His Excellency stressed the need to ensure unrestricted access to humanitarian aid, and to initiate a reliable political transition that leads to an independent civilian government that expresses the aspirations of the Sudanese people.
