Ambassador of Italy: A wide presence of Italian companies in the UAE market

Dubai, 24 November / WAM / His Excellency Lorenzo Fanara, Ambassador of Italy to the UAE, confirmed that Italian companies enjoy a strong presence in the UAE market, especially in the field of building materials, especially marble and natural stones, which are widely appreciated, in addition to Italian construction equipment and machinery, which are among the most advanced and reliable in the region.

In statements to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, on the sidelines of the launch of the Big 5 exhibition in Dubai, Fanara expressed his pride in participating in this global event, which embodies the strong partnership between the two countries in the building and construction sector.

He explained that the Italian embassy recently issued a book documenting the legacy left by Italian companies in shaping the aesthetic and architectural landscape in the country.

For his part, Valerio Soldani, Italian Trade Commissioner to the UAE and Director of the Office of the Italian Trade Agency in Dubai, confirmed that trade relations between Italy and the UAE witnessed record growth during the past year, as the value of Italian exports to the country amounted to 7.8 billion euros, with expectations of approaching 9 billion euros by the end of 2025.

Soldani pointed out that this growth reflects the high demand for Italian products, services and technologies, especially in light of the UAE’s implementation of the largest and most modern sustainable urban projects in the region, as the UAE market accounts for 25 percent of the “Mega Project” projects in the Gulf region.

He noted that the Italian companies participating in the exhibition this year will display a wide range of innovations, including energy efficiency technologies, building solutions for villas and residential projects, and interior and exterior design products, in addition to solutions that combine high quality and Italian craftsmanship with a commitment to innovation and sustainability.

He added that the two Italian pavilions at the exhibition present a unique model that combines industrial heritage and modern Italian design by displaying the latest equipment and technologies used in the largest construction sites around the world, in addition to the great diversity of Italian stone and marble products.

He explained that the construction and stone sector in Italy represents an industry worth more than 15 billion euros, provides more than 50,000 jobs, and exports more than 60 percent of its production to global markets. He stressed that Italian companies are ready to meet the needs of specialized and giant projects in the region.
