Egypt affirms its rejection of any unilateral measures that affect its water security

Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, confirmed that the Nile River represents the lifeline of the Egyptian people, stressing Egypt’s rejection of any unilateral measures in the Eastern Nile Basin that violate international law.
Abdel-Aty indicated, in statements reported by the “Cairo News” channel; He stressed that Egypt will take all legal and diplomatic measures guaranteed by the United Nations Charter and international law to protect its water security and ensure the continuity of its vital resources. However, Egypt will continue to work with the international community and concerned countries to guarantee its water rights, noting that protecting the Nile River and ensuring the flow of water in a fair and stable manner constitutes a top priority for Egyptian foreign policy.
