Health calls on citizens for early detection of diabetes

The Ministry of Health and Population confirmed that the high incidence of diabetes among citizens is no longer just a number in statistics, but rather represents a danger indicator that calls for urgent action towards early detection and periodic follow-up.
The Ministry stressed that early diagnosis of the disease provides a better ability to control it and reduce its complications, pointing out that neglecting the first symptoms may lead to health deterioration that is difficult to remedy later.
The Ministry explained that diabetes is a A chronic disease resulting from high levels of sugar (glucose) in the blood, and it may develop silently without obvious symptoms at its beginning. She pointed out the importance of paying attention to its most prominent symptoms, most notably:
Extreme feeling of thirst
Continuous hunger
Frequent urination
Unexplained weight loss
Stress and fatigue
Blurred vision
The Ministry of Health called on citizens to measure their blood sugar level regularly, especially those who have a family history of illness or suffer from obesity or high blood pressure, stressing that ignoring Symptoms or delaying diagnosis may expose the patient to serious complications affecting the heart, kidneys, nerves and eyes.
The Ministry confirmed that detection, follow-up and treatment are completely free, as part of the President of the Republic’s initiative to examine and treat chronic diseases and early detection of kidney disease, whose points are spread throughout all governorates of the Republic, and provide specialized medical teams and accurate examination services for suspected cases.
The Ministry concluded by emphasizing that protecting health is a responsibility. Shared, and that paying attention to measuring blood sugar continuously is the first step towards prevention, saying: “Your health is more important.” Early detection saves your life."
