The Deputy Foreign Minister visits Melbourne to enhance communication with the Egyptian community in Australia

Ambassador Nabil Habashi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Immigration and Egyptian Affairs Abroad, concluded his visit to the city of Melbourne, which came in implementation of the directives of Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptians Abroad, by strengthening direct communication with members of Egyptian communities abroad, and supporting the close ties that unite Egypt with its people abroad.

The Deputy Foreign Minister participated in the major celebration organized by the Australian-Egyptian Federation (AEF) at the headquarters of the Victorian Parliament on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the launch of diplomatic relations between Egypt and Australia, where he appreciated the continuous development witnessed by bilateral relations in various fields, highlighting the role The growing growth of the Egyptian community in consolidating bridges of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

 

In a related context, the Deputy Foreign Minister held a number of extensive meetings with entities and symbols of the Egyptian community in Melbourne, during which he reviewed the efforts undertaken by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Immigration and Egyptians Abroad Affairs Sector to serve the people of the country abroad and meet their consular needs.

 

 He also discussed the most important Topics of interest of citizens, including the initiatives proposed by the Egyptian state to its citizens abroad, as well as modernizing and digitizing the system for issuing identification papers, and developing coordination mechanisms through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the relevant ministries inside Egypt regarding service issues. The visit witnessed a ceremony of receiving an important artifact recovered voluntarily from an Australian citizen in coordination with the side. The Australian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed the deep appreciation this step represents for the ancient Egyptian civilization, and the success of the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities to restore Egyptian cultural heritage.

 

And as an embodiment of the depth of historical relations between the peoples of the Mediterranean, Ambassador Habashi participated as a guest of honor in the celebration organized by the Union of Greeks from Egypt and the Middle East, where he highlighted the Egyptian presidential initiative to revive the roots – Nostos was launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, which aims to strengthen human and cultural ties between the Egyptian, Greek and Cypriot communities in the diaspora countries, in appreciation of their contributions to Egyptian society and their place in the national memory.
