The Prime Minister chairs the meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Tourism

This evening, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, chaired the meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Tourism, at the government headquarters in the New Capital, in the presence of Dr. Hani Sweilem, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development and Acting Minister of the Environment, Sherif Fathi, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno, Minister of Culture, Dr. Amr Qandil, Deputy Minister of Health and Population, Engineer Maged Metwally, Deputy Minister of Transport, and Major General A. H. Azzam Farouk Azzam, Director of the Military Museums Department, Major General Ibrahim Malak, Assistant Minister of Interior for the Tourism and Antiquities Police Sector, Ambassador Yasser Reda, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Hossam Al-Shaer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Federation of Tourist Chambers, Dr. Walid Abbas, First Vice President of the New Urban Communities Authority, Assistant Minister of Housing, Amani Metwally, Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Dr. Mostafa Mounir, CEO of the General Authority for Tourism Development, and Sherine El-Sharqawi, First Assistant Minister of Finance. During the meeting, the Prime Minister reiterated the great attention that the tourism sector receives from various state agencies, given the role of this important sector in achieving more desired economic and development goals.
The Prime Minister affirmed the government’s continued efforts to support and strengthen the tourism sector by focusing on developing the various components of this sector, and providing more incentives and facilities that would contribute to the advancement of this promising sector, in order to maximize Because we have the capabilities and capabilities that qualify us to achieve the targeted rates for the number and volume of incoming tourism to various Egyptian tourist destinations.
In the same context, the Prime Minister discussed efforts to support private sector institutions to expand the establishment of more hotels and hotel units, to accommodate the volume of tourism traffic expected for many tourist destinations, which Egypt is distinguished by its diversity.
The Prime Minister reviewed, during the meeting, efforts to revive many historical and archaeological areas throughout the Republic, especially in Cairo. Historical, in addition to the interest in developing and rehabilitating the areas surrounding these various historical and tourist areas, including the areas surrounding the Grand Egyptian Museum.
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly also discussed the efforts to improve the experience of tourists during their visit to Egypt, starting from the moment of arrival, ending with the moment of departure, and the cooperation and coordination that is taking place in this regard between the various concerned parties to achieve this goal, including what is related to the expansion of the application of the electronic visa system in various Egyptian airports.
