Health: Helwan University is witnessing an intensive blood donation campaign for a week
The Ministry of Health and Population, in cooperation with the National Center for Blood Transfusion Services, implemented an extensive blood donation campaign within Helwan University, which extended over a full week, as part of the efforts of the General Administration of Health Initiatives and the Central Administration of Blood Operations to enhance the strategic stock of blood and its derivatives.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the timing of the campaign coincided with the university’s hosting of the activities of the Presidential Initiative to Support Women’s Health, which added a special character. It was a distinctively complementary activity, and showed the extent of high coordination between the various sectors of the Ministry to provide comprehensive and sustainable health services to the university community and the surrounding area.
For her part, Dr. Fatima Shoman, Head of the Central Administration for Blood Operations and Blood Transfusion, revealed that the campaign succeeded in collecting 295 bags of safe and usable blood, noting that this quantity will contribute directly to saving the lives of dozens of patients in the Ministry’s hospitals, especially cases of accidents, major surgeries, tumors and blood diseases.
She confirmed. «Shuman» Such campaigns are not limited to providing blood only, but also aim to spread the culture of voluntary donation among university youth, and to consolidate the value of noble humanitarian work that connects members of society in its highest form, stressing that every bag of blood may be a reason for the continued beating of a human heart and the hope of an entire family.
The Ministry of Health and Population thanked and appreciated the administration of Helwan University, its students and faculty members for the great interaction and their unprecedented enthusiasm, stressing the continuation of organizing such campaigns in universities. And factories and institutions at the republic level, because donating blood is not just a patriotic duty… but rather a message of life.
