Today, in the Al Lisaili area of ​​the Emirate of Dubai, the sixth round of the “Emirates Running Villages 2025” series races began, which are held within the activities of the “Year of Community 2025” under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Office for Development Affairs and Families of Martyrs, Chairman of the Emirates Council for Balanced Development.
The races witnessed the participation of various groups of society, including families, children, and people of determination, which embodies the integration of national efforts to achieve comprehensive and balanced development, in which people are the core priorities.
The organization of the sixth round of races today coincided with the UAE’s celebrations of the 54th Union Day, as the Al Lisaili area witnessed a group of national events, including artistic performances, heritage activities, and celebrations that reflected the spirit of union and belonging, which added a festive atmosphere to the race and strengthened the presence of national identity in the event.
The events contributed to introducing participants and visitors to the local heritage of the Al Lisaili region and highlighting the authentic cultural aspects, in addition to their role in promoting tourism in the region and highlighting its natural and heritage components.
The first place winners were crowned and the distinguished participants in the categories were honored in a festive atmosphere that reflects the spirit of unity and national cohesion that characterizes the UAE society.
The coronation was attended by the Minister of Sports, Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, the CEO of the Emirates Foundation, Ahmed Talib Al Shamsi, and the Secretary General of the Emirates Council for Balanced Development, Mohammed Khalifa Bakhit Al Kaabi, along with a number of officials of agencies and councils in the country.
The National Agricultural Center participated in the activities accompanying the race through the farmers’ market, which witnessed the display of a group of local agricultural products from the Al Lisaili region, in addition to a review of modern agricultural and environmental practices.
The center provided visitors and participants with the opportunity to learn about organic and seasonal products, which are an essential pillar in supporting food security and encouraging local agriculture.
The sixth round of the “Emirates Running Villages” races 2025 was distinguished by its diverse heritage and environmental character due to the natural environment and unique identity of the Al Lisaili region, being a center for equestrian activities, camel racing, desert and traditional sports, in addition to being hosted by a number of farms, resorts and training facilities that reflect the depth of the Emirati heritage, giving participants and visitors a distinctive experience that reflects the beauty of the Emirati villages and the richness of their environmental, social and natural heritage.
The 2025 “Emirates Villages Running” races constitute an important opportunity to explore the cultural, tourism and social aspects of the Emirati villages within the framework of the Emirates Council’s vision for balanced development, which aims to highlight the elements of development in various regions of the country and enhance the quality of life in local communities.
The race distances varied to suit all groups and included a 1.5 km family race, a 5 km community race, and a 10 km competitive race, which allowed for wide participation from various segments of society.
