المملكة: 5 categories entitled to voluntarily participate in social insurance. Here are the conditions

The Saudi Social Insurance, optional subscription to the pensions branch for Saudis from several categories.

The optional subscriber is the Saudi who is not affiliated with government and private entities and is voluntarily registered in the pensions branch of the social insurance system.

The social insurance system has specified a number of categories that are entitled to participate as follows:

  1. Workers in liberal professions, provided that they obtain a license to practice the profession from the competent authorities.
  2. Craftsmen who practice their crafts for themselves or in partnership with others based on a license issued by the competent authorities, such as blacksmiths, carpenters, plumbers, and the like.
  3. Workers outside the Kingdom who are not linked to a work relationship with an employer that has a head office inside the Kingdom.
  4. Saudis who work in foreign international, political and military missions in the Kingdom who are not subject to the system compulsory and in this case are treated as the categories stipulated in Paragraph 4 of Article 4 of the system.
  5. Contributors whose compulsory contribution to the pensions branch has ceased and no longer meet the conditions stipulated in the system.

Conditions for optional subscription to social insurance

  1. The age of The subscriberfor 18 years and under 60 years, except for those who had a previous subscription period, in which case he is entitled to contribute regardless of his age at the time of submitting the application, except for the subscriber who was previously entitled to a pension for a previous period, where his age is required to be under 65 years.
  2. The contributorwhose compulsory contribution period in the pensions branch has ceased has the right to submit an application for voluntary subscription with the intention of completing the contribution period eligible for retirement pension entitlement or increasing his contribution period to improve his pension in accordance with the conditions mentioned in Article No. 44 of the Registration and Contributions Regulations.
  3. Employers wishing to register with the voluntary subscription must register all workers in the establishment and pay the contributions due for them.
  4. The subscriber who does not have previous mandatory subscription periods has the right to choose any of the income brackets shown in the electronic form to register for the optional subscription.
  5. For a subscriber who has previous mandatory subscription periods, it is required that the chosen income bracket be equal to or next to the last subscription wage that he received during his compulsory subscription period and not to exceed 10%. If the wage falls between two brackets, he may choose the higher bracket.
  6. The optional subscription begins on the first of the month following the date of submitting the request to register for the optional subscription.
  7. The subscriber is obligated to pay the subscription within the first 15 days of the month following the month for which it is due according to the Gregorian calendar, at the rate of 18% of the value of the selected segment.
