Closed since 2021.. Uzbekistan fully reopens its borders with Afghanistan

The Uzbek Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced today that the crossing at the Termez-Heraton Bridge, which connects Uzbekistan and Afghanistan, has again become in service.

Travelers can move directly and safely between the two countries, noting that the visa system is still in effect.
She stated that the closure of the crossing was forcing people to take an alternative route that takes a full day through Tajikistan to reach the major Afghan city of Mazar-i-Sharif, which is located only 75 kilometers from Uzbek.
