His Excellency Khalifa Khadem Al Himairi, head of the community interaction team at the Masters Games, said in a statement to “WAM” that the Masters Games in Abu Dhabi are launched according to one vision that aims to encourage the community to practice sports and community participation, which contributes to raising the levels of public health for participants of all age groups, to serve public health in the emirate.

He added that the Games include about 37 sports at the level of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and target various societal segments, noting that the Masters Games represent a global experience held for the first time in the region, and are supported by the leadership to be a major seed for promoting the practice of sports and a healthy lifestyle.

The success of the festival is linked to its four pillars: movement, nutrition, sleep, and mental health, within the philosophy of the Masters Games, which establishes the concept of “sport is a way of life,” as the games are not limited to being sports competitions only, but rather constitute a broad community platform that encourages all ages and backgrounds to reconnect with physical activity, and enhance culture and community ties.

The games contributed to spreading the culture of daily activity through various community initiatives, such as the “Steps to Mars Challenge,” heritage-inspired experiences, and cooperation with local wellness communities, providing the Health Festival with an opportunity to expand its circle of influence and encourage the emirate’s residents to adopt a more active lifestyle, while linking wellness to cultural identity and social belonging.

The festival’s activities will be held over three consecutive weekends in different areas of the emirate, as it will be held on Al Hudayriat Island from December 12 to 16, then in Madinat Zayed Park in Al Dhafra from December 19 to 21, and its activities will conclude in Al Jahili Park in Al Ain during the period from December 26 to 28.
