The Arab League organizes the 28th session of the Arab Charter on Human Rights Committee for the State of Kuwait

The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States (Social Affairs Sector/Human Rights Department), at the university’s headquarters, organized the twenty-eighth session of the Arab Charter for Human Rights Committee, which was dedicated to discussing the second periodic report of the State of Kuwait. This came in conjunction with an expanded Arab celebration of the sustainable educational endowment and support for higher education and scientific research in the Arab countries.
Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities, affirmed the support of the League of Arab States for the work of the Union and higher education institutions, stressing the importance of charitable education and its role in developing sustainable education.
Salama explained that the Union of Arab Universities concluded a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Endowments in Egypt to revive the charitable endowment with the aim of supporting the educational process at the level of the Arab world. He added that education in the modern era is no longer just a transfer of knowledge, but has become an engine for human capital, stressing the need to enhance vocational education, expand partnerships with the industrial sector, and empower youth through specialized programs, in addition to developing green university strategies and creating platforms for community service.
Salama called on the Arab countries to allocate no less than 2% of national income to support scientific research, stressing the Federation’s continued role in supporting sustainable development initiatives.
For her part, Counselor Enas Al-Dujaini, Head of the Social Affairs Sector and Human Rights Administration, confirmed The League of Arab States said that the celebration of the Arab Day for Sustainable Educational Endowment comes to enhance the role of Arab civil society in supporting the process of joint Arab action, supporting higher education and scientific research, and supporting the goals of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.
Al-Dujaini stressed that encouraging university institutions in the Arab world enhances the quality of the educational process and enhances its role in serving civil society.
In turn, Sheikh Al-Sayyid Abdel Bari, Deputy Minister of Endowments, stressed that charitable endowments in all their forms, most notably The educational endowment is the core of the ministry’s work, pointing to its role in confronting religious and non-religious extremism, including rural fanaticism and bullying.
Abdul Bari pointed out that the Egyptian endowments are standing and standing tall with the support of the state, and that strengthening the educational endowment guarantees the quality of education and expands its availability to various groups.
Ambassador Hamad bin Abdul Aziz Al Kuwari, Minister of State, Head of the Qatar National Library and Ambassador of Sustainable Education, said that Doha has made sport a message of love and promoting the values of peace. And justice.
Al-Kuwari expressed his deep connection to Egypt, saying: “I worked as an ambassador in most countries of the world, but Egypt remains my first love because of its profound impact on my life.” He added that Egypt’s educational imprint is firmly rooted in his conscience, as he learned at the hands of Egyptian professors at the religious institute in Qatar, “and they are the ones who instilled in us the love of the beautiful Arabic language.”
He pointed out that Egypt was generous even on the personal level, as it granted him a wife and the mother of his children, thanking Egypt, “the mother of the world.” He expressed his happiness at being honored as the Personality of the Year for Social Responsibility by the League of Arab States, stressing that this honor is “an honor and a responsibility to shape the person before the place.”
In a recorded speech, Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, said that the celebration coincides with the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Arab League, which has remained a barrier against infiltration attempts, a unifying voice for the Arabs, and an impregnable fortress for defending Arab issues, most notably the Palestinian issue. Which today is subjected to a genocidal war.
Aboul Gheit acknowledged that what has been achieved by the Arab world is less than ambitious, pointing to the Arab citizen’s aspiration for an Arab institution that achieves economic integration and well-being for the peoples of the region. He stressed that the Arab countries possess huge potential and wealth, but achieving integration is still far from the desired level.
He added that the anniversary of the founding of the Arab League “is dear to everyone’s hearts,” calling for renewing the spirit of Arabism, rejecting all forms of racial discrimination, and continuing work to enable the Arab League to be “the League of Arabs capable of creating their future.”
