The Wheelchair Basketball Federation announces the list of teams participating in the Women’s League "2025/2026"

The Egyptian Wheelchair Basketball Federation announced the final list of clubs participating in the General League Championship competitions for the 2025/2026 season, before the start of the first round scheduled for the period from December 7 to 10, at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Hall in 6th of October City.
The new season witnesses an exceptional event with the establishment of the first official women’s league with the 3×3 system, which is the internationally approved system and the most suitable for the foundation stage in Egypt. In a step considered the largest towards supporting and spreading the game among women.
Three officially accredited teams are participating in the women’s competitions this season, namely: Al-Hassan Foundation in Cairo, Al-Hassan Foundation in Alexandria, and Al-Mustaqbal Foundation in Alexandria.
This expansion comes as part of the federation’s plan to establish a strong base for women’s sports, after the success of previous experiences, and the continuation of work on preparing players capable of representing Egypt in Arab and African championships in the coming years.
As for the men’s level, it will be held. The tournament has wide participation from nine clubs from various governorates, namely: Minya, Beni Suef, Fayoum, Al-Hassan Foundation in Cairo, Al-Hassan Foundation in Alexandria, Damanhour, Al-Mustaqbal Alexandria, Kafr El-Sheikh, and the National Bank.
This participation reflects the remarkable development in the spread of the game and the success of the federation in attracting new clubs to official competitions, in a direction that supports plans to build a large base of players in various governorates.
The announcement of the team lists comes within the organizational movement. In preparation for the start of the first round of the tournament, after the Federation had revealed the date for holding the competitions during the period from 7 to 10 December, stressing that the new season reflects a clear vision aimed at raising the technical level of the clubs and enhancing the geographical spread of the game.
The Federation also confirmed that the season will be held on a points system, where the winner gets two points, compared to one point for the loser, a system that aims to enhance competition until the end of the season and provide fair opportunities for all teams to improve their ranking.
This season is an important milestone within the plan. Al-Ittihad to develop the game of wheelchair basketball, and prepare a new generation of players capable of representing Egypt in the upcoming African and international tournaments.
