"Sharjah for volunteer work"Volunteering is a solid national value

Sharjah, 5 December / WAM / The Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work affirmed the pioneering position of the United Arab Emirates in supporting and enabling volunteer work and consolidating the culture of humanitarian giving, thanks to the directives of the wise leadership that made volunteering an established national value and a path to sustainable community development.
On the occasion of International Volunteer Day, the award praised the role played by state institutions in the public and private sectors, and the continuous efforts of individuals and volunteer teams that work in a spirit of responsibility to serve society and enhance its civilized image, stressing that these integrated efforts contributed to consolidating the position of the Emirate of Sharjah as a prominent model in supporting volunteer initiatives and social responsibility programs.
Dr. Jassim Al Hammadi, Secretary General of the Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work, said that the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, represent a roadmap upon which the Award is based in supporting community initiatives and celebrating every volunteer effort that contributes to serving the nation.
He added that International Volunteer Day constitutes an occasion to emphasize the vital role of volunteers as essential partners in the development process, and an honorable model of the values of giving that the UAE and the Emirate of Sharjah are keen to establish among members of society.
He pointed out that the award continues to receive entries in its twenty-third session, calling on government and private institutions, volunteer teams, and individuals of different ages and categories to submit their files and benefit from the opportunity to nominate, explaining that registration is open until December 31 through the official award platforms.
