Arab Cup: Morocco draws with Oman with 10 players

The same goalless draw was imposed on the Moroccan national team and its Omani counterpart, today, Friday, in the second round of the group stage of the Arab Cup Qatar 2025.
The Moroccan team seemed more in control during the first half, as it exerted continuous pressure on the Omani defense, but the final touch remained absent despite the abundance of attempts, so the first half ended in a scoreless draw.
After being the most proactive party, the “Lions” found themselves facing a very difficult turning point, when Abdul Razzaq Hamdallah received a direct red card in the 53rd minute, after a violent intervention on Oman player Musab Al Shaqsi.
This expulsion turned the tide of the match, with the advantage shifting to the Omani team, but it seemed unable to score against Moroccan goalkeeper Mehdi Benabid, despite the many opportunities afforded to the Omani attackers.
For his part, the Moroccan national team coach, Tariq Al-Saktoui, considered the draw with Oman a good result, given the numerical disadvantage that befell his team for more than half an hour.
Al-Saktoui said after the match: “A point is a good result for us. It is true that victory was available to us in the first half, but we missed many opportunities that could have given us the advantage in terms of the result, but things changed a lot in the second half, so I am satisfied with the draw.”
The Moroccan national team will play in the third round against the Saudi national team, next Monday, a confrontation in which it will need a draw with any result to advance to the second round, without regard to the other match that will be held at the same time, which will bring together Oman with the Comoros.
