2026 World Cup draw… Morocco, Brazil and Jordan on a date with Messi

The draw for the 2026 World Cup finals, which was drawn today, Friday, in Washington, resulted in different groups for the Arab teams, the strongest of which is the Jordanian team, which will clash with the defending champions, Argentina, led by the legendary Lionel Messi, Algeria, and Austria, followed by the strength of the Moroccan team, which faces its star-studded Brazilian counterpart, Haiti, and Scotland.
The Saudi team was in the group of Spain, Cape Verde, Uruguay, and the Egyptian team was in a balanced group accompanied by Belgium, Iran, and New Zealand. The Qatari team was in a relatively easier group with Canada, Switzerland, and (the winner between Italy – Northern Ireland and Wales – Bosnia and Herzegovina), while the Tunisian team came in the Netherlands and Japan group (the winner between Ukraine – Sweden and Poland – Albania).
The finals will be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico between June 11 and July 19, 2026, with the participation of 48 teams for the first time.
In the opening match, Mexico and South Africa will meet at Asteca Stadium in Mexico City, while MetLife Stadium near New York will host the final match.
The anticipated global finals will be held in 16 final stadiums (11 in the United States, 3 in Mexico, 2 in Canada), and the champion and runner-up of each group will qualify for the round of 32, with the eight best teams in third place qualifying for the round of 32.
It is noteworthy that four teams will qualify from the European playoff, which includes 16 teams: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Czechia, Denmark, Italy, Kosovo, Northern Ireland, North Macedonia, Poland, Republic of Ireland, Romania, Slovakia, Sweden, Turkey, Ukraine and Wales.
Six teams will compete for the remaining two places in the global playoff competitions: Bolivia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Iraq, Jamaica, New Caledonia, and Suriname.
