6 players represent the UAE in the Modern Pentathlon World Cup

The UAE modern pentathlon team delegation left for South Africa to participate in the World Championships, which will be held from the eighth to the 13th of this December, and include competitions in biathle (running and swimming), triathlon (running, shooting, and swimming), and laser run (running and shooting), with the participation of 1,800 male and female players from various countries of the world.
The team’s delegation includes six players: Hamdan Hamad Al-Qaidi, Muhammad Khaled Al-Qaidi, Saeed Omar Al-Ketbi (under 9 years), Dhiab Omar Al-Ketbi, Salem Tamim Al-Ketbi, and Hamid Saeed Al-Ketbi (under 13 years), along with coach Muhammad Qasim Khalil, Ahmed Al-Badi, member of the Federation’s Board of Directors and Chairman of the Referees Committee, and Adnan Al-Hashemi, member of the Board of Directors and Assistant Secretary-General.
The President of the Emirates Modern Pentathlon Federation, Dr. Hoda Al Matroushi, confirmed that this edition receives special attention, as it is the first time in the history of the game that it has witnessed a major global event of this size.
She said in press statements: “The tournament is very useful for our young people at the beginning of their journey in the pentathlon sport.”
She added: “This year’s championship is exceptional, because it will witness, for the first time, athletes of determination participating in the same competition fields with able-bodied athletes. A new track has been allocated for wheelchair racers to ensure safety and smooth flow, while the rest of the athletes of determination will participate on the same track, and in the same swimming course, with able-bodied players.”
