Maryam Al Balushi was elected to head the environmental protection committee in "ICAO"

The Committee on Environmental Protection in Aviation is a technical advisory committee affiliated with the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). It consists of 11 working teams and approximately 1,200 experts. It was created to set global standards, policies and guidelines that address the environmental impacts of the international aviation sector. The teams also work on basic areas, such as aircraft noise, engine emissions, climate change, sustainable fuels, and proposing environmental management tools, in addition to providing scientific, technical and economic assessments to the Council in a way that contributes to developing legislation.
