The Minister of Labor witnesses the renewal of a collective labor agreement that preserves the rights of 2,075 workers

Minister of Labor Mohamed Gibran witnessed today the renewal ceremony of the collective labor agreement between the Suez Canal Container Company and the Workers’ Union Committee, which benefits 2,075 workers, within the framework of the Ministry’s keenness to promote balanced labor relations, guarantee the rights of workers, and improve the work environment within private sector establishments.
Minister Gibran said: “The signing of the agreement is a model of the Ministry’s support for business owners and enhancing communication with them, as well as maintaining The rights of workers and the stability of the work environment.".
The Minister stressed that signing and renewing collective agreements represents one of the Ministry’s most important tools in consolidating the principle of social partnership between the two parties of production in order to achieve job stability, improve the work environment and increase production rates, praising the fruitful cooperation between the company’s management and the trade union committee.
The agreement was signed by Kjeld Mosgaard Christen on behalf of the company, in his capacity as CEO, and on behalf of the trade union committee of the company’s employees by Ahmed El Gohary.
It included Ahmed El Gohary. The renewed agreement continues many financial and social benefits for workers, most notably the continuation of the disbursement of the Ramadan grant, in addition to the continuation of the production incentive for shift workers with the modification of the container schedule and an increase in the maximum incentive.
The agreement also stipulates the continuation of the company’s contribution to the worker’s solidarity document in cases of death, total disability, or early retirement, with the continuation of the retirement benefits program and opening it to new workers, in addition to the continuation of calculating the annual wage increase based on the annual inflation rate.
The benefits also included the continuation of the payment of a bag of benefits. Ramadan Iftar meal, and disbursing two months of the contractual salary under the account of profits for all employees, provided that the settlement is made after the issuance of the General Assembly’s decision, in addition to the company bearing 50% of the comprehensive health insurance contributions for the workers and their families, and contracting with a medical insurance company to provide health care services to the workers’ families, with the insured bearing 20% of the value of the service.
The agreement also included the disbursement of an annual grant on the occasion of the academic year in September of each year, which reflects the company’s keenness to support the workers and their families. And alleviate their burdens.
At the conclusion of the celebration, the Minister of Labor stressed that the agreement is a positive model for cooperation between companies and workers, indicating that the Ministry continues to support such agreements that preserve workers’ rights, achieve stability, and enhance productivity within the Egyptian labor market.
