المملكة: "Water Authority" For"today": Saudi Arabia has moved from consuming water technologies to exporting solutions globally
The Executive Director of Communications and Marketing and the official spokesman for the Saudi Water Authority, Sultan Al-Rajhi, explained during his speech to Al-Youm that the fourth edition of the Innovation Conference in Water innovation globally.
Al-Rajhi said that this edition witnesses the presence of more than 180 speakers from more than 130 countries, presenting 75 scientific papers, within a global platform hosted by Jeddah, in which decision-makers, leaders, experts, entrepreneurs and all those concerned with the water sector meet, to present successful international experiences, discuss solutions, and anticipate mechanisms for confronting current and future challenges.
He stressed Al Rajhi said that the Kingdom has achieved a qualitative leap by moving from the stage of consumption Water Technologies has reached the stage of producing and exporting solutions worldwide, noting the participation of more than 100 exhibitors from government and private agencies in water-related sectors within the conference activities.
Global Water Innovation Award
In speaking about the activities accompanying the conference, Al-Rajhi explained that the opening ceremony witnessed the handing over of the third edition of the World Water Innovation Award, which is the award organized by the Saudi Water Authority in partnership with donors from the private sector.
He revealed that the award attracted 2,570 applicants from more than 130 countries, and went through several stages, including receiving entries, initial screening, and then final judging, arriving at 36 candidates from 22 countries who came to the main stage to announce the winners of the award this year.
Al-Rajhi stated that winning the award does not represent the end, but rather the beginning of a new stage of empowerment, which includes providing an experimental environment and implementing Solutions, and transforming innovations from mere ideas or research papers into realistic products that contribute to developing water industries and enhancing their economies, locally and internationally.
Al-Rajhi added that the conference also witnessed the official announcement of the Saudi Water Authority obtaining the Guinness World Records certificate, considering the Rabigh Innovation Oasis the largest specialized research center in the water sector in the world, which, according to him, reflects the amount of attention given by the wise leadership to this vital sector, and the continuous follow-up by His Excellency the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture and the Chairman Authority to promote progress in the water innovation system.
Al-Rajhi concluded his statement by emphasizing that innovation does not recognize borders, as well as the World Water Innovation Award, as it is directed to every creative mind who has an idea or solution that contributes to protecting this vital resource and supporting its sustainability, whether within the Kingdom or anywhere around the world.
