Morocco snatches the lead from Saudi Arabia in the “Big Summit”… and they qualify together

The Moroccan national team achieved a valuable victory over its Saudi counterpart with a free goal scored by Karim Al-Barkawi in the 11th minute, at the conclusion of the second group competitions of the Arab Cup, to take the lead in the group and advance to the quarter-finals with the Saudi national team, which reserved the second qualification ticket.

The goal of the match gave the “Atlas Lions” three points, raising its score to 7 points from three matches, after a strong campaign that witnessed clear superiority without suffering any loss, while the Saudi team’s score – which missed a penalty kick – stopped at six points to occupy second place and guarantee qualification despite its loss in the last round.

In the second match, within the same group, the Oman national team achieved a victory over its Comoros counterpart with a score of 2-1, bringing it to 4 points in third place, but the victory was not enough to compete with the leaders for the two qualification cards, while the Comoros national team exited the competitions after remaining without a balance of points.

With these results, the curtain fell on the second group competitions, with the teams of Morocco and Saudi Arabia qualifying for the quarter-finals of the Arab Cup, after they presented a consistent and distinguished performance during the group stage, while the teams of Oman and the Comoros left the tournament at the end of the first round.
