The Governor of Cairo declares an emergency to confront the rain… and 24-hour operating rooms

Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, confirmed that the executive bodies and heads of neighborhoods have raised the state of maximum preparedness to deal with the possibility of rain falling during the coming hours, noting the spread of equipment for withdrawing water from giant siphons, fountains, and modern motors in the main axes, entrances and exits of bridges, tunnels, and areas of rain accumulation, according to the forecasts of the Meteorological Authority, ensuring the rapid removal of any water accumulations without affecting liquidity. Traffic.
The governor explained that full coordination had been made with the control center of the National Emergency and Safety Network and the central operations room at the governorate’s general office, to ensure immediate response to any reports or complaints from citizens related to water puddles, and their immediate removal.
He added that the governorate’s central operations room had been linked to a communication line. Directly with the Meteorological Authority to monitor the weather conditions around the clock, and notify the neighborhoods immediately to move quickly when necessary, in addition to linking the neighborhood operations rooms to the central room to ensure immediate dealing with any emergency. And the Civil Protection and Utility Police, to ensure full readiness to deal with any water accumulation in any location.
The governor confirmed that there is continuous coordination between the Cleaning Authority, the sanitation company, and the heads of the neighborhoods, to ensure the complete completion of the disinfection of rainwater drains spread throughout the streets and areas of the capital, in support of the governorate’s plan to reduce the potential effects of weather fluctuations.
