المملكة: The Red Crescent in Mecca raises its readiness to deal with heavy rains


The Saudi Red Crescent in the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region, its maximum readiness; Coinciding with the warnings issued by the National Center of Meteorology regarding heavy rains in the region, the alert was raised and harnessed Ambulance sectors, and increased the readiness of the Command, Control and Medical Deportation Center to follow up on the rainy situation moment by moment, to direct field teams according to the highest operational standards to ensure rapid access to the affected sites.

The authority also confirmed that it has enhanced the spread of emergency teams by stationing in vital support sites within the most affected governorates, including sites near valley streams, highways, points with traffic congestion, and rugged sites, to ensure the effectiveness of rapid intervention during weather conditions.

Services Continuing around the clock

The authority indicated that the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region includes (19) ambulance sectors supported by (98) ambulance centers operating around the clock, including (24) centers in Taif within four sectors, (36) centers in Jeddah within seven sectors, and (38) centers in the Holy Capital within eight sectors, in addition to field concentration and support points covering the governorates affected by the rainy situation according to operational plans.

The Saudi Red Crescent Authority called on citizens and residents to follow the instructions and warnings of the competent authorities, avoid flood streams and pools of water, cooperate with ambulance teams by clearing the way, and not gather at accident sites. It also called for requesting the ambulance service via the number (997) or through the “Help Me” application to ensure accurate location identification and speed up the arrival of field teams.
