Algeria accompanies Iraq to the quarter-finals… and Bahrain and Sudan bid farewell to the Arab Cup

The defending champion Algeria and Iraq qualified together for the quarter-finals in the fourth group competitions in the Arab Cup in Doha, after the Algerian team achieved a valuable victory over Iraq with a score of 2-0 in the confrontation that brought them together today, Tuesday, at Khalifa International Stadium, within the third and final round of the group stage.
The Algerian national team topped the group with 7 points, while Iraq came second with 6 points, while the Bahrain and Sudan national teams exited the tournament in the first round.
The Iraqi team completed the match with ten players from the first minutes after its player Hussein Ali was sent off.
The Algerian team took the lead with the first goal through Mohamed Amin with a perfect header in the 45th minute, before the Algerian team added the second goal at the beginning of the second half, after Iraqi defender Saad Natiq scored an own goal in the 46th minute.
In the second match, which was held at Education City Stadium, the Bahraini national team defeated Sudan with a score of 3-1, putting the first three points on its score, but it left the competition despite the victory, while the Sudanese national team remained with only one point.
Sudan completed the match with ten players after Mohamed Saeed was sent off in the 56th minute.
Mahdi Abdul-Jabbar (37), Muhammad Al-Rumaihi (79 from a penalty kick), and Mahdi Humaidan (89) scored for Bahrain, while the only goal for Sudan was scored by Yasser Muzamil (71).
