Hope shown on Human Rights Day: "Differently capable" Change societal culture and achieve a real human rights shift

Engineer Amal Mabda, President of the Egyptian Sports Federation for Mental Disabilities and Vice President of the Egyptian Paralympic Committee, issued official statements on the occasion of International Human Rights Day, in which she affirmed that the Egyptian state in recent years has presented an advanced model in respecting humans and preserving their dignity, especially in the file of the rights of persons with disabilities, which has become a firm pillar in the state’s vision of building a just and comprehensive society.
Mabda said that the world’s celebration of this day reaffirms that human rights begin with empowering the groups most in need of support, Emphasizing that Egypt has clearly adopted this principle through integration policies, developing laws, and expanding the scope of availability and services.
The rights of people with disabilities are at the heart of the Egyptian state’s vision
Mabada stressed that what has been achieved in Egypt is no longer just separate initiatives, but rather a state approach based on investing in people and empowering the country’s people without discrimination, noting that the system of sports support, social protection, and developing education and services all reflect a real commitment to the rights of people with disabilities.
Able with a difference… a national success that changed the mental image of society
Engineer Amal Mabda, CEO of the Able with a Different celebration, spoke about the pivotal role of the celebration, stressing that it had indeed succeeded in completely changing the mental image of Egyptian society, and that this success was in line and compatible with the policy of the Egyptian state, which paid great attention to the disability issue.

Engineer Amal Mabda added that the Egyptian state is currently working on preparing the national strategy for persons with disabilities, within a comprehensive plan to protect and promote their rights, stressing that this step represents a pivotal stage in the path of human rights within the Egyptian State.
Mabda said: Preparing the national strategy for persons with disabilities is a very important step within the framework of human rights, because it places rights in a practical and operational context, and turns international principles into clear plans and programs that can be implemented. For implementation, it contributes to improving the quality of life of millions of citizens.
She explained that this strategy comes as a continuation of the state’s efforts aimed at developing public policies, improving services, and expanding opportunities for availability and empowerment in all sectors, in a way that enhances the building of an inclusive and just society based on equal opportunities and respect for human dignity.
Mabada concluded her statements by affirming that the Egyptian state is moving steadily towards promoting human rights, and that attention to the issue of disability is not a secondary issue but rather a pivotal element in building the new republic, Noting that she hopes that the next stage will witness more joint work between the state and society to enhance the integration and empowerment of all people with disabilities in the country.
