She indicated that the department awards a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, in addition to the Early Childhood Master’s program with four specific tracks including: teaching and learning, educational leadership in early childhood, learning difficulties in early childhood, in addition to giftedness and genius in early childhood.

Kahwaji said that these precise specializations contribute to supplying the educational field with qualified academic cadres, noting that the department includes an elite group of academics who graduated from international universities in these fields, while the number of female students at the bachelor’s and master’s levels is about 600, which reflects the increasing demand for the early childhood specialization and its importance in building generations.

World Children’s Day

She indicated that this year’s celebration coincided with International Children’s Day 2025, as the department was keen to display the learning outcomes of the bachelor’s and master’s programs, through an art exhibition of children’s works, which embodied their vision, dreams, and feelings through drawing, colors, and creativity. She added that the event aimed primarily to promote The right of the child to express and have his voice heard, and to be given the opportunity to express himself, his opinions, and his ideas through creative artistic means, in an atmosphere full of joy and inspiration.

In this context, she said that the place “was full of vitality and creativity, as the colors of the drawings mixed with the children’s laughter and their presence in every corner, in an image that reflects the essence of childhood and its true meaning,” expressing her happiness with the remarkable interaction and influential participation witnessed in the event.

The event was held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of “Live it to Humanity,” and Her Highness Princess Sora bint Saud bin Saad Al Saud, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees, may God protect them, and in the presence of His Excellency the President of King Abdulaziz University and its academic leaders.

Children’s voices

The event was organized within the “Children’s Voices” project, implemented in partnership with UCL University and the Bright Start Foundation, and with the participation of children from ten schools in the city of Jeddah, who presented artistic works that expressed their experiences, aspirations, and view of the world around them.

The program included a number of dialogue sessions and specialized workshops, in addition to the participation of educational bodies and supportive sponsors, as part of integrated efforts aimed at providing an educational environment that raises the value of the child and makes him An active partner in the learning process and a holder of a heard opinion.
