The Minister of Planning opens the Egyptian-Albanian Business Forum with the participation of representatives of the business community

Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, inaugurated; The Egyptian-Albanian Business Forum, held in the Albanian capital, “Tirana”, within the work of the meetings of the Egyptian-Albanian Joint Committee for Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation in its first session, with the participation of Delina Ibrahimayi, Minister of Economy and Innovation of the Republic of Albania, Ambassador Hassan Shawky, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Albania, and a number of private sector representatives in the sectors of tourism, infrastructure, agriculture, construction and other sectors of interest.

Dr. Rania Al-Mashat stressed – in her speech – that the first business forum between the two countries constitutes a turning point in the path of relations between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Republic of Albania, as the holding of the first session of the joint committee, since 1993, embodies a joint political will to advance bilateral relations and move them from the level of intentions and aspirations to the level of tangible economic, scientific and technical cooperation, in line with the development priorities of both countries. The two countries.

She indicated that the two countries’ agreement to form a joint Egyptian-Albanian business council will strengthen future relations, as it will have an effective role in increasing the volume of trade exchange, promoting joint investments, and creating constructive partnerships with the private sector.

Al-Mashat reviewed the developments of economic and structural reforms in Egypt, and the measures taken by the government earlier and contributed to increasing the readiness of the Egyptian economy to receive various investments, pointing out that The government continues to implement reforms that provide more incentives for the private sector.

Al-Mashat directed Calling on Albanian companies to benefit from the Suez Canal Economic Zone, which represents a window for Albanian investments and exports to regional and international markets, stressing that the joint government committees, especially this committee, remain essential tools for deepening cooperation, exploring new investment opportunities, and supporting the participation of the private sector.

She pointed out that the protocol for this first session covers a wide range of strategic sectors, including trade, investment, tourism, energy, water, agriculture, higher education, health, information and communications technology, and civil aviation, And the environment, youth, sports, culture and others, reflecting the common vision of a comprehensive partnership.

She continued that Egypt continues to implement an ambitious program for economic reform, which aims to enhance competitiveness, improve the investment climate, and expand the role of the private sector, saying that the business forum that brings us together today constitutes an ideal platform to explore new horizons, exchange experiences, and build practical partnerships that reflect our common aspirations for prosperity. 

Al-Mashat expressed her aspiration for this partnership between the two countries. By continuing to grow by expanding trade, enhancing investments, and deepening cooperation in various fields.
