Al Dhafra Region Municipality organizes various events and exhibitions for productive families in "Liwa International"
Al Dhafra, December 17 / WAM / The Al Dhafra Region Municipality announced the organization of various activities through the Municipal Presence Team, within the Liwa International Festival 2026, which is currently being held in the Al Dhafra region until the third of next January.
She explained in a statement today that the activities held in the festival park include various community initiatives and activities and daily cultural competitions on the stage, during which valuable prizes are distributed to the winners, in addition to a market for productive families, and an area for children to play various games, in a safe and encouraging environment.
Salem Mohammed Al Ameri, Director of the Liwa Municipality Center, confirmed that they have kept pace with the importance of this annual international event by making all arrangements for infrastructure and roads, leveling the fields for various races and competitions, rehabilitating the road leading to the festival site, and creating and equipping the road branches leading to the camping areas.
He added that the great efforts undertaken by the municipality also included leveling the dirt areas adjacent to the roads and asphalt parking lots, maintaining the sand slopes to facilitate movement for campers in the desert, preparing service facilities and decorating the city and the festival site, and installing flags to receive the participants.
He explained that the municipality pays great attention to the health and safety of participants and campers by preparing and providing a mobile slaughterhouse at the festival site, and continues awareness and inspection campaigns to maintain the safety of everyone, in addition to public hygiene awareness before and during the festival until its final station to maintain the general appearance, in addition to providing the service of distributing firewood to participants for heating.
Al Ameri said that the “Liwa International” activities are among the international festivals that attract a large number of tourists and visitors from inside and outside the country, pointing to the cooperation with strategic partners to contribute to the success of the festival and to highlight the tourist attractions and sports activities in the Al Dhafra region, especially since the municipality added a new tourist attraction, which is the Liwa painting, which was registered in the Guinness Book of World Records as the longest painting in the world.
